SUMMARY:LIVE Symposium: New Strategies in the Battle Against Infectious Diseases
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, February 14\, 2024\n9:30 AM – 12:00 PM Eastern Time \nCommon infectious disease treatments\, including antibiotics and antivirals\, or preventative strategies\, such as vaccination\, often fail to successfully combat the microbes that they target due to drug resistance mutations\, phenotypic switching\, antigenic diversity\, and emerging variants. Consequently\, scientists must develop new approaches in the war against infectious diseases. \nIn this symposium brought to you by The Scientist’s Creative Services Team\, researchers will discuss how they investigate\, combat\, and prevent infections caused by evolving bacterial and viral pathogens. \nFor Full Symposium Program and To Register please visit: TheScientist LIVE Symposium Event Page \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:3rd Annual ASIC meeting
DESCRIPTION:Upcoming conference on Extracellular Vesicles!  \n3rd meeting of the American Society for Intercellular Communication (ASIC) will be held on October 12th through October 14th\, 2022 at the Bolger Center in Potomac\, Maryland.     \n \nLast year’s meeting (October 2022) was a hybrid (in-person and virtual Zoom) meeting with more than 120 participates that largely covered basic sciences of both EV and non-EV communications. This meeting included NIH workshop (pre-meeting)\, a set of intense and in depth talks on EVs and non-EVs\, with an opening keynote Nobel Laureate Dr. Thomas Sudhof from Stanford University\, as well as a grant workshop for junior faculty.      \n \nThis year the meeting is organized by a committee of investigators seeking to create a platform for informal exchange of ideas on emerging questions and cutting-edge developments in the field of Extracellular Vesicles (EVs)\, Extracellular Particles (EPs)\, and particulate carriers of extracellular RNA (exRNA) as biological mediators\, regulators and diagnostic analytes. Our program of relatively short talks (12 and 20 minutes) includes a discussion/question session that will encourage discussion and the audience and attendees can respectfully debate the concepts presented to foster a dynamic scientific exchange.   \n   \nRegistration deadline: September 18th\, 2023. Registration is now open at the following website.  \n https://secure.touchnet.com/C20788_ustores/web/store_main.jsp?STOREID=77&SINGLESTORE=true
